貿易法專題研究
Seminar on International Trade Law
In this semester, the focus will be on trade issues in pharmaceutical sector. The topic is “Legal and Policy Issues on Trade in Pharmaceutical Products under WTO”. The following issues will be covered:
1. Meaning, scope and nature of pharmaceutical products
2. WTO Rules related to trade in pharmaceutical products
3. Human right issues concerning pharmaceutical products
4. Trade Liberalization and availability of drugs
5. Patent, trade and availability of drugs
6. Compulsory Licensing and the trade in dugs
7. Protection of data and the trade in drugs
8. Parallel Importation of drugs
9. Generic drugs and trade issues
10. Biomedicine and trade issues
11. Traditional Chinese medicine and TBT/SPS
12. FTA and trade in drugs
13. Anti-counterfeit agreement and pharmaceutical sector |

課程目標 |
To have the participants
1. To become familiar with international trade rules
2. To link trade rules with human right issues
3. To acquire some knowledge about pharmaceutical sector from trade law perspective

課程要求 |
1. The course will be conducted in English.
2. It is useful (but not required) if the participants already have some international trade law background.
3. Participants are expected to participate in the discussions actively.
